FAQ
Questions before you trust it with your job search.
These answers are written for people deciding whether CandidRecord is worth joining the waitlist for.
Is my data really local?
Yes. CandidRecord is designed as a local-first app. Your job-search record lives on your computer, not in a CandidRecord cloud account.
Which AI does it work with?
Manual copy and paste works with any chat tool. If you prefer, the product also supports your own API key for routed tasks, using the same pack and review process.
Can the AI change my CV or record directly?
No. AI output becomes review cards. You approve, edit or keep out each suggestion before anything updates your record.
Does the AI talk to me or just generate documents?
It can ask you missing questions for a role. Your confirmed answer is queued as a review card, and it enters your record only after you approve it.
Does CandidRecord apply for jobs for me?
No. It prepares materials and keeps the record. You still submit applications externally and you mark a role as applied yourself.
How do I know what I actually sent to a company?
After you apply, CandidRecord can keep an application receipt from your own records: what you sent, when, which files were produced and which approved changes supported the application.
What is the Candidate Core?
It is the compact reusable context CandidRecord sends in packs: confirmed history, facts, evidence, skills, achievements, boundaries and answered questions. It is built to stop you re-answering the same things in every AI chat.
What happens to weak or unsupported claims?
They stay flagged until you verify them, or become do-not-claim boundaries. A truthful gap is better than a risky claim.
How does the privacy shield work?
Before a pack leaves your computer, names and sensitive terms can be masked. You still choose what goes to an AI provider, and that provider's terms apply to what you send.
What does it cost?
CandidRecord is a paid product. Pricing is announced at launch; waitlist members hear first and get early access.
When can I get it?
Join the waitlist and you will hear when early access opens. There is no public download on the launch site yet.
What happens if something goes wrong with my data?
The product is designed around backups, audit events and undoable review decisions. Restore rehearses into a temporary root first before a real swap.
